The Story & Heart Behind Doulanor

A journey built on warmth, 13 years of family care, and space for who you are.

I believe that every pregnant person deserves unconditional, nonjudgmental, and unbiased support before, during, and after labor.

Who Is Doulanor?

I am a Venezuelan-born, Miami-raised, queer, cis woman who has always been obsessed with babies and everything birth.

Ever since I was a little girl, I knew that I wanted to work with children and parents. I did everything from teach dance, child wrangle, summer camp counselor, and eventually a full-time nanny. I have worked as a nanny for the last 13 years.

I am finally walking the road to becoming a birth and postpartum doula, and I am beyond thrilled to be working with you. My intentions are to bring light, love, safety, and knowledge to families in need of assistance during both birth and postpartum.

“I believe you should be able to speak freely of any concerns or questions you may have about your pregnancy and newborn. I believe that it is your right to rest and be able to enjoy the journey into parenting, whether it is your first child, or your third.”

Let’s work together to create the environment you have always dreamed of for your family and more. Whether that means holding steady counter-pressure during an intense wave of labor, ensuring you have water and nourishing food, or holding your baby so you can take an uninterrupted, restorative nap in the quiet of your postpartum home.

Foundations & Study

Continuous self-study and evidence-based literature underpin my approach, drawing from foundational works by Penny Simkin (The Birth Partner), Ina May Gaskin, Marshall Klaus & Phyllis Klaus (The Doula Book), and Nancy Mohrbacher (Breastfeeding Made Simple).

*Passionate commitment to evidence-based practice and lifelong learning.

A Unique Eye

Doula care and documentary photography in harmony.

Alongside hands-on doula support, I bring a photographer’s eye to your birth space.

Care Always Comes First

As a doula first and photographer second, your physical comfort, autonomy, and birthing space are the absolute priority. The camera is quiet, unposed, and never intrudes upon your labor.

Unposed, Authentic Memories

Birth is raw, radiant, and deeply emotional. My documentary photography captures the authentic expressions, the loving glances from your partner, and that miraculous golden hour.

First 48 & In-Home Newborn

In the comfort of your own home, capturing the quiet yawns, the tiny fingers, and the peaceful early days of parenthood without sterile backdrops or forced poses.

Inclusivity Commitment

A safe space for every family structure.

“Doulanor is queer, woman, and Hispanic owned.”

My practice is grounded in genuine cultural humility and celebratory support for LGBTQIA+ folks, single parents, BIPOC families, teenage parents, and families of all backgrounds.

I am happy to work on a sliding scale for those who are BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, single parents, teenage parents, unemployed, sex workers, or disabled. You will always be treated with dignity, discretion, and unconditional respect.
